South West: Mobile barber engages to train vulnerable kids

BY SIMON NDIVE KALLA

A mobile barber by name Ekie Walters Ngalle, has announced a 6-9 months training offer to vulnerable persons and IDPs in the Buea Municipality. Ekie Walters made the announcement during a chat with The SUN recently.
Ekie said he decided to start a 6-9 months programme that will help teach some IDPs and less privileged persons how to do a decent/stylish hair cut. “Shaving is one of the easiest jobs to learn; I think this is the best way to help by training them so they can get employed” he says.
Ekie Walters added that the training begins on December 12, 2020. One of his key problems at the moment he mentions is how to get this information to the IDPs so they can know of the training programme.

The programme which will impact over 50 persons seeks to empower the IDPs and less privileged persons in the Buea municipality.
Ekie urged IDPs and less privileged persons in Buea to make use of the training and gain a skill to empower themselves and make a living from it. He added that the training is free of charge and that interested persons only need to come with their training tools.
He however pleaded with authorities to look into the ongoing Anglophone crisis rocking the North West and South West Regions of the country and seek a permanent way out.
