The President of the Republic, Paul Biya has opened a new era at the Cameroon Real Estate Corporation better known by its French acronym as SIC, following the designation by Board members of Minister Celestine Ketcha Courtes of Housing and Urban Development as their Board Chair and Ahmadou Sardouana as the new Director General. Designated at the end of an extra ordinary board meeting last August 20, 2019 in Yaounde, the duo described by many as a winning team had hitherto been working as close collaborators at the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (Minister and Secretary General.)
The 53-year old Ahmadou Sardaouna who hails from the North region of Cameroon is a holder of a PhD in Civil Engineering obtained at the Yaounde National Advanced School of Public Works and another PhD of science in the management of projects from the Atlantic International University in America.
After accumulating professional experiences first as Regional Delegate of the then Ministry of Urban Development and Housing in the North region in 2005, the Far North in 2001 and Littoral in 2010 and Secretary General of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development since 2012 till his appointment, Dr Ahmadou Sardaouna is expected with the new Board Chair, Minister Celestine Ketcha Courtes to take to a success level, President Paul Biya’s policy of providing low cost houses to citizens nationwide.
The new SIC DG who is preparing a Doctorate thesis on “problems of the construction of low cost houses in Cameroon”, takes over from Gabriel Bengono who spent 8years at the helm of the corporation.
Speaking to the press shortly after their appointment, both Minister Celestine Ketcha Courtes and Ahmadou Sardaouna said they were aware of their mission and promised to work with all stakeholders in order to produce glaring results at the helm of SIC.
